Varvaglione for the Ocean

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”  Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Our corporate mission has always put the environment and sustainability at the core. One small gesture to protect our oceans and seas is the new cork we used for MARGRANDE Fiano del Salento by NomacorcOcean. It is made from reclaimed plastic that was polluting the oceans of Southeast Asia. MARGRANDE confirms our bond with the sea and protects the environment, our home and home to the world.

Again this year the winery is happy to look even further ahead and renew the partnership with Vinventions. What’s new? A cork produced from reclaimed plastic that was polluting the oceans in Southest Asia. The Nomacorc Ocean cork aims at reducing marine pollution by salvaging Ocean Bound Plastic, and it is the first cork to be produced with recycled plastic, thus promoting the collection of waste to protect the sea.

From this comes the idea to use this cork on Fiano Salento IGP Margrande, the wine that celebrates our city. the city of the two seas. This is how Varvaglione 1921 protects the environment and pays homage to its homeland, honoring the link between wine and the sea.
