LUCA MARONI AND THE BEST ITALIAN WINES – 2015 NATIONAL EVENT IN ROME

Luca Maroni awards The Best Italian Wines, including wines by Varvaglione Vigne & Vini.

Luca Maroni, one of the most famous Italian wine experts, has awarded producers of red, white, rosé and sweet wines on his 2016 “The Best Italian Wines”, mentioning the wines with rates higher than 91 points.

The awards assignment to the wine producers stated on the “2016 guide of the best Italian wines” – at its 22nd edition now – opened the event, including the multi-awarded Apulian winery Varvaglione Vigne & Vini. The prizes have been awarded according to the scientific tasting method by Luca Maroni, based on the principle that the pleasantness of a wine taste makes its quality, according to three features: texture, balance and goodness.

The “PAPALE LINEA ORO-PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA DOP” classified in the category of “THE BEST RED WINE IN ITALY” with 98 points. Then, 95 points awarded to “SCHIACCIANOCI -NEGROAMARO DEL SALENTO IGP”, 95 to “IL CARDINALE LINEA ORO-PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA DOP”, 94 to “PASSIONE-PRIMITIVO DEL SALENTO IGP”, (92) to “12 E MEZZO-MALVASIA DEL SALENTO IGP”, 91 to “12 E MEZZO-NEGROAMARO DEL SALENTO IGP” and 90 to “12 E MEZZO-PRIMITIVO DEL SALENTO IGP”.

The essence of this event can be summarized with the following Luca Maroni’s words: «A wine should be appreciated using one’s senses, rather than one’s head. People who cannot understand wines do not exist: everyone has the sensitive capability to recognize its goodness, even though he/she does not have the criteria to analyze and explain it».
